About Me

In my living room there is a small red wagon with a plexiglass top that functions as a side table. An antique anthracite box holds wood for our wood burning stove while old bathtub feet serve as door stops. These are just a few of the items in my home that have been given a new lease on life.

It was with this inclination to recycle that I was drawn to making paper beads from no longer useful wall maps, posters, wrapping paper and “junk mail”.

I treat my paper beads as I would my table and anthracite box, as beautiful objects. With that in mind, I’ve combined the beads with pearls, semi-precious stones and lovely glass beads to make necklaces that are hand knotted on silk and finished with sterling silver clasps and extenders. My paper earrings are combined with pearls, semi-precious stones, glass beads or parts taken from no longer useful pieces of jewelry that are then hung from sterling silver or gold filled ear wires.

My paper jewelry along with other pieces of jewelry that I’ve made have sold in stores in New York and Connecticut including Splurge in Greenwich, CT, The Women’s Exchange in Scarsdale, NY, The Neuberger Museum gift shop in Purchase, NY, and most recently at trunk shows at Bloomingdale’s in White Plains, NY.
